Geocache Description:

Also known as 'UCLA - The land of never enough parking!'. The first of the UCLA Sanctuary series. This wonderful garden is one of the true sanctuary's at UCLA.

UCLA has many secluded areas where you can sit and relax, but at various times through the day and through the week most of them have characteristics that would make any attempts at meditation futile. Of all the sanctuaries at UCLA, this garden is one of the true sanctuaries at UCLA... very few people walking around, and the only sound is the quiet hum of the road nearby.

Hours are 8AM - 5PM M-F, and 8AM - 4PM on the weekend. There are a few entrances.

As with most sanctuaries, reception is almost non existent. I was able to get one reading with about 50 foot accuracy. Here's how to find the cache: There are two bridges in the garden. The cache is placed under the bridge that is the farthest 'downstream'. It is a mini altoids tin (I could have used something larger), placed on the concrete ledge... you will have to get on one knee and get your hands dirty reaching for it.

Bring a pen! There is only a log sheet in the cache!

Parking is messed up. $7 to park at UCLA... or 8 minutes per quarter for most of the meters around campus. Some fellow cachers recommended parking at the Ralphs/BestBuy/DrugStore on Le Conte... and on your way back, stop in to one of them, buy something small, and get your parking validated. This parking lot is very close to Sanctuary #1, so its a good place to park.

Since parking is such a pain... if you want to get all the caches on campus, and want to absolutly make sure you find them all, send me a line, I can help you out in a few different ways (I can email hints, I'm on campus all the time, and I can probably get you a parking pass for the weekend).
