Geocache Description:

The Salmon River area once was a wintering spot for fur trappers like Jim Bridger and Kit Carson. And not far from this geocache near the mouth of Tower Creek, Lewis and Clark made camp on August 21, 1805. The area is full of history so spend some time in Salmon learning of its fascinating past.

This geocache is hidden near an actual cache once used by fur trappers. My late uncle told my mother of the location and now I thought I would share this almost forgotten spot with you. The old cache hole has been destroyed by weather and time but the large rock where the cache was hidden is still there. So happy hunting and good luck!

The following items are stashed in an ammo can: a little ceramic bear, bicycle bell, candle, old pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, carabiner keychain, ear rings, fingernail clippers, bouncy ball, calculator keychain, a logbook, and pencil. Please sign the logbook and make a trade if you like. Please re-hide the cache as well or better than you found it. Thanks.
