Climb an elephant shaped mountain and take in some nice views.
Planted a "just-in-cache" that I had ready for spur-of-the-moment planting. Took ages deciding what to call this cache. One alternative was "Dam we need some rain", but I went with the current name, and it rained on me on my way down, just to spite me. When I got home, my sister told me something that gave me a much better idea for the cache name, but I didn't want to return to the cache to change it.
Approach the cache from the south-east.
Elevation of the cache is 769 m according to my GPS at time of planting. Allow 3-4 hours for the return journey. It is recommended that you have a topographic map with you (Mount Alford 1:25000 sheet), and follow your track log carefully on your decent, as it is easy to get off track and end up in 5 star terrain.
Take care on some of the tracks at the top, as there are loose rocks and it is easy to lose you footing.
I didn't have a cache information sheet with me, so if someone could leave on that would be great.
