This cache is a easier park and grab in a black container. It is a
log only cache so please (BYOP)Bring Your Own Pen!
There is a little bit of sparatic poison ivy in the area and
also a few of those briar things that we all know about it. It is
fairly easy to stay away from both if you watch for them.
Update: June 2004
The cache has twice went floating due to the fluctuations of Lake
Waco. Luckily both times it didn't go far and we were able to find
it. The log also stayed dry (somehow?) on both trips! We have now
put a little bungee cord on the cache and repositioned it so
hopefully it will stay safe. Please replace it as found and let us
know if the bungee cord needs replacing , etc. Thanks!
JANUARY 18, 2005: This cache is unbelievable! We checked on
it today and it has now survived it's 3rd flood!! You could tell
that the cache and the cache area was several feet under water for
quite a while.........and again........miraculously both the
container, and the log stayed safe and dry! WoW! The cache was
right where we left it; (our GPS showed 3 feet away at the cache
today)thank goodness it's harness held up!
Update: September 3, 2007
I love this cache!! It somehow survived another horrendous flood
(it's 4th one!) this spring/summer! This time it survived being
under 10 + feet of water for 2 months! Wow....what a cache!
Replaced the original log today with a brand new one.
Also note that now you have to park about 500 feet away from the
cache. There is now a white barracade across the old road. Park
there (on Park Road 1A, off Park Road 1) and just walk down the
road until the gpsr tells you otherwise. You will see how high the
water came up on this road too.
There is all kinds of debris , trash,
logs, etc all over the road surface.....what a mess! This would be
a GREAT Cito area!
Be careful out there and Have FUN!
