Blessed Cache Traditional Cache
Dr. Who and K-9: The local town has been discussing the possibilities of upgrading the area around this spot or possibly moving the statue so we decided to retrieve this cache and archiving it before it disappeared forever. It may be awhile before anything is done but we didn't want to take the chance. Thanks to all who hunted this cache and gave such great comments. We plan on recycling the cache and putting it out in another location. Thanks.

This cache is located in Fenn Park near the Christ of the Ohio statue on the hill above Troy, Indiana.
A German POW, Herman Jogerst, imprisoned in Kentucky during WWII, was helped by a Catholic priest. After his release at the end of the war, he went to the St Meinrad Abby and sculpted 6 pieces for them. Dr. N.A. James commissioned him to build the Christ of the Ohio statue on his property in 1956 above Troy. The landmark statue helped river pilots navigate the river until modern navigation equipment made it no longer needed for that purpose. The view from the top of the hill is fantastic of the river and the surrounding area. You can literally see for miles. The cache is an ammo box with several items to trade and a log book.
