This cache is located at the Pioneer House near Johnson Regional Medical Center. The building itself is not open for viewing but you are allowed on the grounds surrounding it.
The Pioneer House is located in Clarksville, Arkansas & was built in 1850. Built from hand-hewn virgin southern yellow pine, the single-room structure reflects the use of the half-hewn, half-dovetail notch construction technique. It is the oldest documented structure in Johnson County, Arkansas. This log cabin evolved into a larger one and a half story log and frame farmhouse covered by weather board siding in the late nineteenth century. An exterior chimney of native fieldstone dominates the east wall. The Pioneer House rests upon a dry laid continuous stone foundation. The remains of a stone well & milk house are located to the southwest of the structure. It will not be necessary to disturb these remains. The Pioneer House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on 3/1/95.
For those of you who like to decrypt the hint before you even look, I am trying something new. Rating a cache with a difficulty level of 3 or 4 is worthless if the clue tells you where it is. I am making this clue more in line with the rating, a little more “outside the box”. This means some of you will get it & some of you will not. My brother-in-law, poppy, of nonnipoppy, claims I sometimes use a yet unpublished book for some of my clues & ideas. He should know as he is uses the same book, just a different chapter.
