Good Place for a Cache Traditional Cache

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Buttermilk Bay Cache to find out about the status of this cache on February 21, 2008. I have received no response from the owner on the cache page or via email. Because of that I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Geocache Description:


This cache is hidden in Massasoit State Park. It is accessible by car, bicycle or foot, depending on the path you choose to take. Go to the coordinates and ask "Where would I hide a cache?"

This is a one quart plastic container with the usual contents.

The main entrance to the park is 1361 Middleboro Avenue in Taunton. Get a not very good map from the Ranger Station if you would like. The cache is 1.6 miles from the parking area. Travel all the way down the main road to the gates on the dam and then walk or bike the next .1 mile to the cache site. Check out the mill site on the right before you get to the dam.

In Winter the road through the park is closed but the parking area is open during the day. Night cachers beware, the gates to the parking area are locked at dusk. If you are adventurous, try the trails that follow the shore of the ponds, for instance the one that goes between Little Bearhole Pond and Middle Pond.
