This cache is a replacement for the previous Rolling Rock cache (GC5C4A), which went AWOL. (I had originally planned on updating that cache page, instead of creating a new one, but the system wouldn't let me change the listing from traditional to a multi-cache.*)
Your hunt should take you through or near:
- A unique stone tunnel/railroad bridge.
- Three additional historic bridges, salvaged from nearby communities. (Plus, I believe two more are scheduled to be coming soon.)
- A winding stream with a small waterfall, and picnic tables nearby.
BONUS: The park has also recently added rustic restroom facilities.
The first stage of this cache is a black matchbox sized container, which contains the coordinates to the final cache: a clear cylindrical container with a red lid. Space is VERY limited, so please bring small trade items, and avoid overfilling container.
NOTE: After logging the cache, you may see a tempting two-track which appears to be the easy way out. Don't be deceived! This leads to a fenced 'No Trespassing' area. Instead, you'll need to head back out in the direction you came from.
*After reading the log entries from the previous cache, I saw that some people were taking a 'short cut' and parking along the road, rather than in the parking lot...causing them to miss the main attractions that make this cache location worth visiting.
By upgrading to a two stage cache hunt, it should be nearly impossible to skip out on seeing the cool bridges in this great little park.
