Another puzzle cache that will lead you to an interesting place of business! You'll enjoy looking around. You may even spot a hare or a tortoise!
To determine the cache coordinates, read the story below and circle the numbers as you come to them. The numbers one through ten are hidden within the words. After you have found all ten numbers, label each one with a letter beginning with A. The first number you find will be A and the last one will be J. Then simply substitute the numbers for the letters in the coordinates to arrive at the cache location.
The Caching Hare & The Caching Tortoise
The forest critters were eagerly gathering for the Geocaching Event. Among them was an obnoxious hare that would often brag about his ability to find a cache faster than any of his competitors. He claimed that he had always won in every competition he had entered.
Tired of hearing the hare boast, Slow&Steady, the tortoise, challenged him to a race. SpeedyGonzales, the hare, ran down the road for awhile and then he paused to rest. He looked back at Slow&Steady and cried out, "Your weight and your short useless little legs aren't getting you anywhere! On even an off day, I'd have no trouble beating you!"
So SpeedyGonzales stretched out alongside the road and fell asleep thinking, "There's plenty of time to relax."
Slow&Steady walked and walked and even when he thought he just couldn't go on, he continued. It was a long way to the cache site and it was hot, and to make things even worse, the terrain was the highest rating possible--a real challenge of the fortitude of our determined tortoise.
But the tortoise continued his lumbering pace while the hare slept. He walked and walked, never giving up. As he approached the cache, the animals who were watching cheered so loudly for Slow&Steady, that they woke up SpeedyGonzales. The hare realized his situation and quickly bounded towards the cache. But it was too late. Slow&Steady had found The Sixth Reel Cache!
After that, the hare always reminded himself, "I've got to stop bragging about my pace for Slow&Steady won the race!"
(All characters in this story are ficticious and any resemblance to actual geocachers--living or deceased--are strictly by coincidence.)
Once you have the numbers in the story labeled with letters, substitute the numbers in the coordinates below and GO FOR IT! The cache is inside (hours are M-Th, 10-7 and F&S, 10-6). You will be looking for a very large Cheese Balls container--in plain sight--so you can bring large items. Ask for help if you need it.
