Doolittle C.S.A Cemetary

In this cemetary which has been maintained by the Doolittle family since antebellum times are buried 100 Confederate soldiers who died at military hospital during the seige of Vicksburg.

Two rail lines cross in this town. The historic rail depot was burned by Union troops in 1865. Newton Station was also the objective of John Wayne's troops in the movie "The Horse Soldiers".

Cache is a .30 caliber ammo box containing various object of unknown origin.
