UPDATED 27 JAN 2008 *** I have relocated the first part and the
final to new locations along the trail. Anyone that has previously
logged this cache is welcome to find it again and post another
Smiley if you want. I have eliminated the offset of the 3rd part so
now the 3rd part is the final itself.
The waypoint caches are WELL HIDDEN micros and the final cache is
in a well hidden 30cal ammo can.
Located along a paved multi-use path that runs along a stretch of
the old historic Boston & Maine RR (B&M) in Lansingburgh
(North Troy). Most maps still show the RR tracks still there in
this area but its been gone since the 1950's. Many features along
the trail still exist from the old RR days though.
All parts are just off the trail and easily accessible. No need
to go past any of the POSTED signs on the East side of the
trail.
I suggest parking at: 42 45.601N 073 40.516W
The Knickerbacker Recreational Facility Ice Skating Arena.
The path is just east of the parking lot. Bikes, dogs and such
are all welcome on this path....just no motorized vehicles. It's a
couple mile long path if you do the entire thing and does have some
other trailheads along the way at various points.
All portions of the cache are well hidden and PLEASE make sure
it remains that way after you are done. The area is obviously
heavily traveled at times so discretion is strongly advised. The
location for the final is my biggest concern.....as local kids do
sometimes hang out in the area at night but have little chance of
discovering the cache unless left exposed.
The cache is well stocked with hockey memorabilia....Hockey
pucks, trading cards, pins, patches, etc....
