Grove Springs Cache Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

MadMin: I attempted to contact the owner of Grove Springs Cache to find out about the status of this cache on May 31, 2008. As I have received limited response from the owner via email and ultimately no action, I'm afraid I have to archive this cache.

I will be more than happy to review this cache again and (hopefully) reinstate it once you have corrected any issues with the cache, but corrections MUST be made before this can happen. please contact me via ma.reviewer@gmail.com to do so.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Nice little park to come visit. Flat terrain.

Grove has always been a welcoming place for both the residents and travelers. In fact, since 1817 it has continued to be a well-known trading center with fertile valleys and clear streams. During the Civil War, Federal Troops referred to the Grove area as "Round Grove" in their official reports. Other names for the area include "Monroe Grove," named for the Cherokee family that owned the land before the Civil War, and "Tablor's Grove," named for Dr. Tablor, an early settler. The area was most frequently referred to as "Grove Springs," since it was a small settlement near a freshwater spring thast served as a resting place for travelers along the Texas Road. "Springs" was dropped from the town name in 1888 when Captain Remsen applied for a post office, thus creating the name "Grove."
The actual clear cool spring is in the NE corner of the park, just follow the creek and enjoy the whole park. Original contents: Logbook,pen,Yu-Gi-Oh stickers, laser pointer,Pokemon cards, caribeaner, rubber chicken,Eskimo Joes keychain,Jeff Gordon keychain,BMW,helicopter, Bob the Builder Travel Bug we picked up in Kansas, and numerous other items.
