Geocache Description:

This is a two stage cache. The coordinates are for the first stage with the second stage located within 15 paces of the coordinates given at the first stage.

On the shores of scenic Prestwood Lake in Hartsville, SC sits Lawton Park, a public recreation area featuring a playground, picnic sites and the original community building. The property is the home of a beautiful and delicate water nymph who very generously allows humans to use the building and grounds during the day while she sleeps, but who makes life quite unpleasant for any who intrude after sunset. A few fortunate boaters have reported seeing her dancing among the cypress knees along the shoreline when the moon is full. Some say she occasionally plays tennis with the Kalmia Garden Swamp Gnome.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: In 2003 the gregarious nymph hosted a spontaneous Octoberfest party for Bubba and Gizmo and all their geocache friends from far and near. The attendees were picked up at dusk by her old friend, the Gregarious Georgia Genie from Augusta, Georgia. He gathered them up one by one on his magic carpet and flew them to the lake where they partied through the night. At the first rays of dawn they all hopped on the carpet and were swiftly returned to their homes. Those in attendance included the Texas Troll from Austin, the Hobbit of Riverbanks Zoo and the Kalmia Swamp Gnome, along with dozens of their friends.

The first event was such a roaring success that a reunion is planned for next October, and the Augusta Genie was so impressed that he is letting Bubba and Gizmo post his geocache coordinates in Augusta on their site as of 10/23/03.
