I-75 Northbound Travel Bug Hotel This Travel Bug Hotel is located
in the Rest Area on the Northbound (East) side of I-75, midway
between the exits for SR-54 (Exit #279) and SR-56 (Exit #275). This
should make it easily accessible to the day visitor as well as the
northbound traveler.
The Hotel is located in the Picnic Area (enter from the north
end of the parking area). One-way traffic only. Do
NOT park on the grass. Please use the designated
pull-offs. The picnic area is only open from dawn to dusk and is
gated after hours and the Rest Area is patrolled. Please don’t try
anything foolish.
The I-75 Northbound Travel Bug Hotel is a cache where you can
trade one Travel Bug for another. The cache container is a standard
ammo can. The cache has some trade items in it for Geocachers who
may not have a Travel Bug to trade. However, the main purpose of
this cache is for Travel Bug exchanges.
On behalf of those that have put much time, effort and money
into creating Travel Bugs, we would ask that you take care of our
creations.
There are some basic “Do’s and Don’ts” for this Travel Bug Hotel
and Travel Bug handling in general.
Travel Bug Hotel Rules (TB-101):
* Do NOT take a Travel Bug if you don’t have one to exchange.
Drop offs without an exchange are permitted. A TB Hotel with no
guests really stinks.
* Do NOT take a Travel Bug if you are not prepared to help it on
its stated journey. For example, if a Travel Bug wants to visit the
Florida Keys, don’t grab it and take it to your Family Reunion in
Tifton, Jawja.
* Please do NOT take all the Travel Bugs in the Hotel. Let
somebody else share in some of the fun. Take more than one, if and
only if, you have placed more than one TB in the Hotel.
* Please, please, please, be sure to follow the guidelines on
the tracking of Travel Bugs. Refer to
http://www.geocaching.com/track/howto.asp for more information.
* Be sure to log your “found” Travel Bug as promptly as possible
(Vacations do make this part tough). Sometimes a TB is grabbed from
Cache #1, placed in Cache #2, only to be grabbed from Cache #2, and
placed/logged again before the Cache #1 has been properly logged.
This really hoses up the tracking.
* If a TB owner has a unique goal or requests for photos, please
DO be an active participant. Have some fun with it.
* If you “check-in” a TB at the hotel, DO be sure to write the
current goal of the TB in the logbook for others to see. If you
can, include it along with the TB (via an attached tag or
note).
