Geocache Description:

Medium sized reservoir with stunning views (if the weather is right) in a beautiful part of Yorkshire

Fewston reservoir is owned by Yorkshire Water, was built in 1879 and holds 846 million gallons of water when full. Around the area are two other large reservoirs and these feed into the water system for Leeds, Bradford and surrounding areas.

There are plenty of established walks around the reservoir, and in particular the walk around Fewston is in the region of 4 to 5 miles.

The nearest car park from this cache is a lay-by off the A59 on the hill just below the Hopper public house. The co-ordinates for the lay-by are N53 59.560 W001 44.100.

Take the public footpath (well made and not liable to be muddy) through the woods down towards the reservoir and then follow your nose ! or perhaps your GPS might be easier.

The cache is a small 1.1 litre box.

For those interested why not do the P...... cache whilst doing this one.... its close by !
