Rood Bridge 2 Traditional Cache
westfolks: After nearly 15 years, it's time to retire this great cache! Thanks to all who have come to visit - over the years, in all conditions. We had 483 visits with over 100 using the old film cameras to take a snap. The area is also under restoration and we don't don't want folks searching in a sensitive area either. Not to worry though, I'm working on some new placements in interesting areas. Cache on!

Located at the North end of Rood Bridge park, Hillsboro. Several types of trails will bring you near the location. May be muddy at times. June 2014 update: dense underbrush makes for a challenging trek from the bridge to the cache. This part of the hunt is probably 3 to 4 terrain rating.
This cache is named after the area you will be visiting. First of all, the old bridge over the Tualatin River on Rood Bridge road has finally been replaced. Second, the cache is located in Rood Bridge park. This park is where Rock Creek flows into the Tualatin. This is the second cache that I know of to be hidden in Rood Bridge park. The first was RB High Water, which was a great multi-cache but unfortunately was stolen. Hopefully, this one will not meet the same fate!
Although you can reach the cache from the north, there is no safe place to park and walk to the cache from there. For ease of parking and traffic safety I highly recommend you go to the parking area in the Rood Bridge Park at N 45 - 29.553 and W 122 - 57.083. From here it will be a 10 to 15 minute walk to the cache area.
The cache is in two containers: a plastic quart jar that is painted green. There is a disposable camera for you to snap a picture of your group or yourself expressing your feeling of the moment! Please jot down the frame number and I will post the photos on the web page once all the pics are taken. The second container is metal and also green, and has the geo trade items.
In Winter and Spring you may want to wear hiking shoes or boots on the search. Some areas of the park are wet and muddy at times.
Please seal and hide the containers well, after finding. Thanks!
Note that the park is open daily and closes at dusk. Dog friendly park too.
