A traditional ammo box cache hidden deep in the woods surrounding a nice park and waterfalls.
This cache is named in honor of those who maintain the park. Signs at the park will explain this further.
Parking is located at N36 06.026 W081 55.786. This cache is located at a little park surrounding a series of waterfalls. Some pools at the bottom of the falls are large enough for children to wade in. Picnic tables are located in several spots along the trails.
The cache is located about 100 feet off of one of the side trails. There are several ways to approach it, so the path to the cache can range from a quarter mile (if you bushwhack a bit and ford the stream) to a little over a 1/2 mile if you stay on primary and secondary trails and use one of the bridges to cross the stream. The longer route is suitable for children who don't mind a moderate hike. If you cross the stream, be careful of the slick rocks. When you're close to the cache, the heavy tree cover may interfere with GPS reception, so we recommend bringing a compass and your geocaching instincts as well.
This is the first cache we've placed. We hope you enjoy finding it as much as we did creating it.
