Geocache Description:

You will be able to park at the old Mill in Dunbeath. The Heritage Centre (see link) can give you lots of information about the area. Although this is rated quite high it is fairly easy but there is a steep incline at the end and the path is by no means flat although it is a good path. There is one bridge to cross on foot.

You are looking for an Iron Age 'Broch' or defensive tower from 500BC.

If you go to the Heritage Centre (visit link) first you will also find out about the Hill of Peace which you also pass. This is possibly an early Christian monastary site standing on the top of a steep sided mound. The area has been written about a lot and features in the stories of Neil Gunn a well known local author. At Dunbeath Harbour you will find a monument to Neil Gunn. The harbour is pretty and has a picnic area.

Original contents of this cache are:
Local shells, modelling balloons, noisy blowing thing, baby book, hair bobbles, allan keys, fridge magnet and glitter glue. Alphabug is also here and needs to go to a cache starting with the letter "F".

The cache is in a 1 litre box so can only take small items.

Have Fun.
