Located along the base of Sombrero Butte at an elevation of 4,110 feet. From River Road in Mammoth, take Bunkerhill Road approximately 9 miles to the Sombrero Butte turnoff. If you are not in a high-clearance 4WD vehicle, there is room for you to park by the concrete watertank (provided there are no cows in the way). You will then need to hike in about 3/10ths of a mile to the ruins and begin your search from there.
