Cache is hidden near Watchung Falls, an easily accessible yet largely unknown feature in Watchung Township. Note: the terrain difficulty rating for the most likely approach applies only at low water!
Shortly after moving to Watchung, I came across a mural in the local Sears store describing and depicting the Legend of Watchung. In the background there was a sizeable waterfall, which I'd not seen nor heard anything about during my time in town.
I'm not recommending that one try to learn geography from murals in retail establishments, but it occurred to me that there might be something to this. After nosing around for awhile, I found it--a small falls, or series of falls, barely hidden and practically right under my nose. I've placed Watchung's first cache nearby.
The initial contents include: a disposable camera (take your picture, but leave the camera), bottle of sunscreen, Dr. Scholl's foot pads, a new Hot Wheels car, a yo-yo, toy motorcycle, helicopter, Happy Meal toy, tape measure, and deer whistles. Cache container is a camouflaged ammo can. Please re-hide well.
