Fairlie Tricky
Geocache originally placed by FlyFishermanBob in 2003.
The second of the Fairlie Trilogy …A Fairlie enjoyable Cache-site ,which should give you some Fairlie good cardio vascular exercise .. ! Sensible footwear is recommended, and a stick is helpful for the return trip.
Park at N55 45.123 W004 51.203 which is Fairlie High (honest) only 68 feet really.
Follow the path for about 50 yds. North to the first cottage (Argyle Cottage ) and go past the front door. Yes, I know you seem to be going into their garden ..but it is the path …there is a small bridge over the railway line ..Follow the path through the wood until the castle. Proceed up the glen .
The path will come to a fork .. Its signposted to the Waterfalls (only about 100yds and worth the walk) The other sign says to the Moors ..that’s the stuff for Geocachers ! Carry on till you run out of trees and breath and you are almost there Cross the stile and further up the hill cross another .
Cache is a large ammo container! which has been Fairlie well hidden to blend into the surrounding landscape…It’s a very popular walk and the cache is very close to the track so please cover it well ..
My GPS says 740 ft
