Heading South from Creston Junction on Hwy 789 and time for a stretch? Checked this Cache on 11-17-03 and it was there. Happy Hunting :)
Heading North from Colorado on Hwy 789, and it's time for a rest? Either way, this will be a cake walk for you.
I-80 and Creston Junction, you are almost there. Travel South on HWY 789 enjoying the countryside. Let your mind wander back to the late 1800's as you whisk down the road at about 65 mph. and try to invision yourself traveling at about 6 mph on a horse or wagon. About the time you get the cold shivers and smile because you are in a nice protected automobile you will see a pullout. There will be a large sign on the West side of the Highway explaining the Overland Trail. There is also a Marking Stone just south of the sign where the trail was. Look west and you will see the wagon tracks that were used. The cache is very close. Have fun and drive safely upon your journey.
