Parking area is located The Old Rifle Range Concord Conservation Land on the west side of Old Marlboro Road, near Williams Road.
The Old Rifle Range 111 acres was used as a rifle range for World War I troop training. Along the main trail, one can find four abutments with hardware, spaced to provide targets at 200, 300, 600, and 1000 yards. From what we can figure a person would stand behind the mound of dirt and a concrete wall, there is a large metal frame with gears on it to crank up and down Targets.
A level trail runs straight to Kennedy's Pond and back,
about 45 minutes round trip. Where the trail follows the
hillside between Ministerial Swamp and the uplands, One part of the trail is
narrow and canted on the side of a hill between Targets 2 & 3 and can be hazardous when wet or icy.
This large (120 acres), this land contains most of Ministerial Swamp. The main trail dry and is mostly above the swamp, The trail that splits north has wet areas. Mountain Bike have been scene on the trails.
