Combahee GemCache Traditional Cache

HeadLlama: When I arrived at the cache site, I discovered that the mound of pine straw the cache was hidden in has biodegraded into dirt. After much poking and digging around I accidentally broke the walking staff I cut while hiking in the Colorado Rock back in 1987. Whaaa! I gave up the search soon after. If it's still there, maybe some archeologist will discover it some day.

Geocache Description:




This is a themed cache. It contains only semi-precious stones, i.e., agate, tiger-eye, amethyst, jasper, geodes, etc.

Please don't leave ordinary rocks as trade items. Travel bugs are welcome of course.
The cache is hidden in the western portion of the Combahee Unit of the ACE Basin National Wildlife Refuge.

Cache ContainerInfo: The trails are old access roads into the forest. There are miles of additional trails throughout the refuge, which is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk. The refuge is closed for nine days during hunting season.





Curved TreesThe trees in this area predominently grow straight up in nice straight rows. You'll know you're near the cache if you find yourself amongst several curved trees.
