Yes, it's a Swimmin' Hole,
complete with high-dive area!
Not really in Brushy Canyon itself, but along the East Verde River nearby.
After finding Crackerjack Mine (GC894A), Highpointer and I decided this very scenic road deserved another cache, so we set about looking for a suitable location. When we found this spot we knew it was the place! Hopefully the water will be running, and the weather will be warm enough for you to enjoy a dip in the creek/river. There are some nice 'beaches' so you can work on your tan, or enjoy a picnic lunch.
Recomended approach is as for Crackerjack Mine (GC894A). Pull off Highway 87 at Milepost 256, and head up FR209. The road is a bit rough in spots, but I think a 2WD P/U should be able to make it with careful driving, probably better not try it in the family sedan. Parking for two or three vehicles can be found at N34º 17.220', W111º 23.144'. Careful inspection of the perimeter of the parking area will reveal a narrow, yet easily passable pathway heading west-southwest down into the canyon, then follow your GPSr to the Swimmin' Hole and the cache.
Views of the canyon floor from the road above indicate there are even more spectacular locations to visit farther downstream. We have left the discovery of these locations for other teams, who will perhaps be inspired to hide their own cache for us to find.
