För ett tag informerade vi dig om att allt inte verkade stå rätt till med din cache och bad dig då ta reda på hur det stod till, samt åtgärda eventuella problem. Då det inte syns några tecken på att du gjort det, kommer jag nu att arkivera din cache.

En slottsruin där man verkligen känner gamla tider omkring sig. Var
försiktig när ni letar för det bor folk i närheten.

This is a ruined castle where you can feel old times
around you. Be careful when you look for the cache because there lives
some people near the ruin.

Kägleholm slott som ligger på Kägleholmsön i sjön Väringen eldhärjades 1712 och är sedan dess en ruin. Gården hette från början Tuna, men bytte namn under Gustav Vasas tid till Kägleholm. Gustav Vasa köpte 1541 gården efter att den tidigare tillhört ätten Sture. Godset har senare tillhört ätterna Leijonhuvud och De la Gardie. Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie lät bygga upp ett slott på ägorna, intill Ödeby kyrka. De la Gardie började bygga vad som skulle bli ett ståtlig slott, men efter branden 1712 lämnades det kvar som ruin. I stället uppfördes en ny säteribyggnad om två våningar i trä på annan plats.

Kägleholm castle situated on Kägleholmsön in the lake Väringen was destroyed by fire in 1712 and has since then been a ruin. The estate was originally named Tuna, but changed its name to Kägleholm during the time of Gustav Vasa. Gustav Vasa bought the farm in 1541 after it had previously belonged to the house of Sture. The estate later belonged to the families Leijon Huvud and De la Gardie. Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie built a castle on the estate, next Ödeby church. De la Gardie began building what would become a stately castle, but after the fire in 1712 it was left as a ruin. Instead they built a new two floored manor building of wood elsewhere.
