Vance Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

steenroller: I looked for this cache for a while and even used a shovel and still could not locate it. The hiding place has changed over the years and it could be buried or it could have been muggled. It is time to retire the first Vance Park cache. If none of the other area cachers put a cache in this neck of the woods in the next few months I will replace it.

Geocache Description:

The cache is in the Vance Park outside of Liberty. It is app. 150' off one of the trails in a wooded area.

I have been planning a couple of caches in this area for a couple of months. This park is on land that was donated to the town by Ethel Stratton Vance for a park and natural area. The Town of Liberty has built the Multi-use Pavilion and is building a ball field. There is a campground and 8 miles of hiking trails, too. The cache is a 4" PVC pipe that has been camo painted. I have enclosed a couple of Amite County maps and other odds and ends. There is not a lot of activity here unless there is an event taking place. This is my first cache to hide and would appreciate the feedback.
