The coordinates above are for the entrance to a county-maintained
natural area. Posted hours are sunrise to sunset. There are no
restrooms nor is there drinking water at this site. No pets or
bicycles allowed. This is where you will begin your search for the
lock box. But first...
...check out the key’s location on the Travel
Bug page. It should be in a cache within a 15 mile radius.
Second, retrieve the TB key, be sure to note in that cache’s log
book that you have taken it, and WRITE DOWN THE TRAVEL BUG'S NUMBER
for yourself in order to log the bug’s movements.
Third, use the coordinates on the key label to find the lock
box. SOLVE THE RIDDLE ON THE BOX to learn how to open it. Be sure
to keep the key with you when you’re finished, and to lock the box
once again.
Fourth, check out the list of
Nearby Caches. You must place the Travel Bug key in a cache
within 15 miles of this one (there are over 30 from which to
choose).
The cache container is a black metal lock box approximately 12”
x 8” and 3.5” deep.
Please remember to log here any items
taken or left so I know when the cache needs to be
replenished.
Difficulty rating of 3 is due to the time and effort required to
get the TB key, find the lock box, and to move the TB to another
cache; there are also potential GPSr reception problems due to tree
cover. The terrain is mostly loose sand. A hike of just under one
half mile is required. Keep in mind that movement through heavy
brush is not necessary. Please, no bush-whacking. There are several
possible approaches to this cache, so if there’s heavy brush ahead
try another approach. Tread lightly.
I hope you all have a successful and enjoyable hunt!
