Geocache Description:

This site served as the maskvolk Halloween II cache event. But after midnight, it reverted to a regular cache for all to enjoy.

Aye, she's a witch! Ats whye her heart ist upside down! Pumps her blood down first and keeps her feet toasty, but she's got to ware a pointy hat to keep her head warm!

And that's why our witch had a crash landing in the woods - trying to land at a geographic feature resembling an upside down heart. It's not obvious on a topo or aerial map, but if you view the trail map at the following link, you'll see it:

You can also link in to this from the Tri-Town Junction cache page.

Parking is in Marlboro near the Hudson border, at The Desert trailhead at the junction of White Pond Road, Parmenter Road, and Concord. There may be some trail maps available there. There are other ways in (from Sudbury), but remember, there is safety in numbers when dealing with witches.

There are two other caches in this area, so check those out too.

The trek in is about 1 mile of established trails on pretty level ground. There is no bushwacking involved. If you want to reenact the Halloween festival, it should be a fun night hike with a headlamp or flashlight. Smiley the skeleton was doing tour guide duty at two points along the trail.

The cache was initially stocked with kids Halloween goodies and finer's buttons. Bring a AA battery for the flashlight you can get.
