llatnek: This one is gone, failed the test. The treeline within which it was located has been significantly re-arranged. One more victim of Irmo Sprawl. I had high hopes that this one would survive to become the first ammocan cache on Wallyworld property (I've since found out that there are others out there).

Thanks to the 143 geo-nicks that posted smileys (and the seven that posted frownies). It's been a good run of more than 4 years.

Geocache Description:

The cache is located in a small park adjacent to the Lexington-Richland 5 School District Headquarters. This park is jointly administered by the LR5SD and the Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission. This park is also behind the Ballentine Fire Station. Coordinates given are from a Magellan 315 so they are not precise (no thousandths).

There are soccer/baseball fields located here so there may be people about. The main parking lot behind the District Building is gated and locked after hours. However, there are no posted hours of operation. Generally, if the stadium lights are still on, the gate is open. There are District Employees coming and going at all hours. You may park in front of the Building with no worry about being locked in (no gates). As always please bring out more trash than you take in.

On 10/16/05 I replaced the container with an ammo can. This should be a very easy find (This is my first cache- although I am planning a multi-cache closer to Lake Murray). The last few yards are through some thorny undergrowth that may-or-may-not die out in winter and probably will get worn down through use.

A special prize for the First-To-Find is taped to the first page of the log. If you find it first, tear out that page and describe the prize when you log your find online.
