Huseby har varit centrum för den sydsvenska järnhanteringen i 300 år. Flera masugnar anlades i andra delar av Kronoberg så som filialer. Dessa utgjorde sedan grunden för det som blev mera känt såsom Glasriket. Under brukpatron Joseph Stephens tid på Huseby (1867-1934) utvecklades även jordbruket vid sidan av järn- och träindustrin. 1930 blåstes tackjärn i masugnen sista gången, men gjuteri var i drift in på 1950-talet. Huseby has been the center of the ironworks in the south of Sweden for 300 years. Many blast furnaces were also built as branches in other parts of the region. These became the base for what today is called the Kingdom of Crystal. During the works manager Joseph Stephens (1867-1934) the agriculture was developed alongside with the iron- and wood industry. 1930 was the last time when the blast furnace was used to produce pig iron but the foundry was working until 1950.
