The Rock Springs Ground Squirrels Base Ball Cache is located at the Rock Springs Center for Environmental Discovery in Decatur, Illinois.
Follow the River Trail down to the Sangamon River. You'll start looking for the cache from there.
The Rock Springs Center is home to the Rock Springs Ground Squirrels vintage base ball team. (That's right, they used to spell base ball as two words.) You can learn more about the team in the visitor center.
Rock Springs Center for Environmental Discovery has a total of 1343 acres, 8.75 hiking trail miles, 2.2 bike trail miles, and 5 cross-country skiing trail miles. A wide range of terrain including forest, wetland, grassland, and restored prairie make Rock Springs a destination for wildlife lovers.
This is intended to be a baseball theme cache. Please try to only trade baseball-related items. You'll be looking for a well-hidden ammo can. Its original contents were a log book, a Chicago White Sox cap, a mini FM radio to listen to ball games, two baseballs, a waterproof container, a compass carabiner, and two packs of baseball cards.
