I-70 Flyby Reborn Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

GPS_Digger: Well, after a nearly nine year run, I think it's time to retire this cache. It's been destroyed/stolen twice, but more importantly, what was once a pleasant location has turned into a trash dump. Sad.....

Geocache Description:

Nothing too difficult about this one, though some clambering over rocks is involved. Unless of course it's been raining or snowing, in which case the ascent/descent can be mighty slippery. Be warned! Descend down into gully from rest area parking lot. Cache is about 3 yards from a wire fence. Initial contents include a pocket knife, lighter, novel (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy), and other cool stuff in a desert camouflage 4" PCV pipe. Have fun!

The original I-70 Flyby was placed in summer of 2001, but was filched. A replacement was placed in July of 2003, but no one ever found it. Today I stopped by and found it just as it had been placed, though I found that the coordinates were more than a bit off. So, now with more accurate coordinates, I offer it once again to the geocaching community!

P.S. There seems to be some confusion about the wingnut on the container. You need to loosen the wingnut to remove the plug, then replace the plug, and tighten down the wingnut. Tightening the wingnut expands the rubber and creates a watertight seal.
