Wonderful sights and sounds! This is not too difficult.
The park is located in what use to be the bottom of Lake Tacoma. It is now home to the City Park, the Skatepark and the Bike Path. This was built as a Memorial to Troy Stratman, a local high school student who lost his life in a tragic snowmobile accident in 1995. The Stratman family and friends raised the funds and erected the memorial in the park in his memory. This summer, the Stratman family added the name of fallen local hero Ssgt. Scott Sather who was killed in Baghdad the day Iraq was "taken". Scott was my sister's nephew and this memorial has now taken on a more personal meaning to our family.
The actual location is within a fence, but can also be seen outside the fence.
To log this as a find, PLEASE don't forget to email me and tell me the name of the memorial. Purpose of this trip is to enjoy your visit!
THE CLIO AMPHITHEATER HAS CLOSED DUE TO INNSUFFICIENT TICKET SALES. Ongoing talks of re-opening are in the works. Keep your fingers crossed!
