Forêt de Verrières

Paris Ring #1: Verrières is a 2-stage multicache in Forêt de
Verrières, southwest of Paris. The forest is easily accessed by car
(lots of parking) or via RER train from Paris (4.05 euros, one
way). Take the RER B train from central Paris to Massy-Palaiseau,
then switch to the RER C and take it one stop to Igny. From the
station follow your GPS down a pretty walking/bike trail next to a
small stream to the entrance to the forest.
The coordinates will bring you to a large trail junction marked
by a signpost. I like to call this spot the Étoile because of its
resemblance to the famous Paris circle surrounding the Arc de
Triomphe. Once you’ve found the Étoile, search for the two
closest numbered trees (on opposite sides of the signpost). Take
the greater number and add 539 to find xxx. Take the lesser number
and subtract 2 to find yyy. You’re off to find the cache!

Paris Ring #1: Verrières est une multicache de deux étapes
qui se trouve dans la Forêt de Verrières, au sud-ouest de Paris. On
peut accéder à la forêt facilement en voiture (beaucoup de
parkings) ou en RER de Paris (4,05 euros, aller simple). Prenez le
RER B de Paris centre à Massy-Palaiseau, puis prenez la ligne C et
descendez à Igny. De cette station, suivez votre GPS sur un joli
chemin longeant un ruisseau jusqu'à l’entrée de la
forêt.
Les coordonnées vous emmènent à un grand carrefour de
plusieurs chemins marqué par un poteau indicateur. Je
l’appelle l’Étoile parce qu’il ressemble un peu à
l’Étoile à Paris. Après avoir trouvé l’Étoile, cherchez
les deux arbres marqués par des chiffres qui sont les plus proches
(au côté opposé du poteau indicateur). Ajoutez 539 au nombre le
plus grand pour trouver xxx. Soustrayez 2 à l’autre nombre
pour trouver yyy. Allez-y, trouvez le cache!
