This natural area is well worth a stop in Carpinteria, a lovely backwater beach town. Enjoy the dunes and the beach while you're visiting. Park along Ash Street; there are several trail entry points. Sunsets are spectacular here.
This marsh area was protected and restored because of the activism of local residents and nature lovers. Take a stroll on the boardwalk with many vantage points of the marsh. It's literally teeming with inhabitants - fish, birds and even an occasional shark are seen, especially during high tides.
Look at the base of the Tide Channels display. PLEASE RE-CONCEAL COMPLETELY.
