The golf course is now closed but the cache is again open.
The nearby park was dedicated in Oct, 1997. It is the site of former Northhampton Plantation. The 1,000 acre tract was sold to John Contee Fairfax in 1865. Descendants of former slaves who lived on this plantation donated photographs for the sign posted at the site that displays the history and facts of the slave quarters. The cache is not in the archealogical dig area.
Original contents include: Log book, pencil, divet repair tool, new balls, new tees, new ball markers and more.
Please keep your trades true to the golf theme.
Don't "slice" yourself on the briars guarding this "rough". You'll have to take several short "dog-legs" on your way to the cache.
