Wildwood Minarets Travel Bug Resort Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

slegal: Missing again. It amazes me how this one goes missing so easily and other caches of mine on busier trails never have a problem. I give up on this spot.

Geocache Description:

OK, so this isn't your typical, easy to get to travel bug hotel, where people traveling far and near can trade bugs and really take them places. This IS the destination. This isn't the airport - it's the vacation.

Those of you that know me know that I love this park. It is an amazing and diverse place where you can feel a complete detachment from the rest of the world. I went out on a night hike earlier in the week in Wildwood and it was one of the best ever. Team Dakiba put a great cache out, Wild West, Wildwood and I wondered if I could top it. Nah, but I think you'll like this one anyway.

I told my friend Trurokr about an idea I had for the Minarets almost a year ago. After my hike I was motivated to make it happen. Team Dakiba told me that I couldn't put out a travel bug hotel that is hard to get to. So I made it a destination resort instead.

My only request is that you try to stick with the theme and only trade track-able items such as travel bugs and geocoins. If you don't have any, come up and sign the log anyway.

The cache is located on a ridge separating the Santa Rosa Valley from Thousand Oaks. You have spectacular views on both sides of the ridge. If you come up from Wildwood Mesa you will be traveling up the Santa Rosa trail. At a point along the way, you will be within a couple hundred feet. Please do not bushwhack! Do not take the direct route! The hillside is a revegetation area. If you've been around as long as I have, you know how bad that hillside looked when people went wherever they wanted. Follow the trail to the ridge top and follow the trail to the left. It will take you all the way to the cache.
