The other caches in this series are:

(click on the title to go straight to the cache page):

Grockles Gumbo South : "The World's Greatest"

Grockles Gumbo East : D-Day In Droxford

Grockles Gumbo North : Where Ravens Feed

And ultimately ...

The Grockles Gumbo : Here Be Treasure!

This cache, Grockles Gumbo West, will provide you with one quarter of the co-ordinates for 'The Grockles Gumbo: Here Be Treasure!'. You will need to visit the other three caches to be able to complete the co-ordinates. The final cache is located ... er ... Oop Norf. Happy hunting!

This part of the cache can be found in Botley Wood which is located to the west of Titchfield Lane midway between Titchfield and Wickham. There are parking spaces for 3 or 4 cars at N50 53.092 W001 13.006 which is next to the entrance to the wood. Alternatively you could try a bit further up the road at N50 53.304 W001 13.061 by the entrance to an electricity sub-station.

In the wood over 600 species of moths (watch your clothes) and 35 of butterflies have been seen. It is also a great place to hear nightingales.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE you are quite likely to see snakes as there is a large population of adders here!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Due to the rough ground there is also the possibility that you may sprain an ankle or sustain some other form of personal injury - there are nettles and thorns here, you may even have to dodge a direct hit from a wayward golf ball. :-) PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL ON THE HUNT ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN WITH YOU.

Beware of Flying Saucers - I spotted these three embedded in a tree trunk!!!

The round trip is approximately 1 mile. GPSr reception might be a tad 'sporadic' due to the tree cover. When looking for the cache please keep to the footpaths, there is no need to 'Bushwhack' until the last few yards!

Currently the cache is a small sandwich box container with not a lot of room in it, we hope to replace it with a larger container at the earliest opportunity .
