This cache placed on the Bristol Area Cachers Meet and Greet Event Day. It can only be logged on or after the Event day, 11-22-03. The cache is located near South Holston Dam. It is a great excuse to enjoy the views of South Holston Lake and take a walk, bicycle ride or have a picnic. Don't forget the Visitor Center at the North end of the dam where there is a map of the entire TVA system. Walking or bicycling beyond the cache site about 1.5 miles brings you to the Alternate Spillway, an interesting series of dams and a nice picnic spot near the lake. In summer, be sure to bring a bathing suit and go for a swim. Bear, deer, and turkeys have been sighted on this trail. Please rehide carefully and replace exactly as you found it, well camouflaged, as there are hikers, bicyclists, and horseback riders on this trail.
