Howard's Middle # 3 Traditional Cache

This cache is hidden within a forest and is accessible by a relatively flat, well-maintained trail with a couple of short boardwalks and bridges. You will need to bushwhack about 30m.
This cache is located along one of the many trails that crisscross through this forest. Off of county road 44, there are two parking lots with trails leading into the forest:
Parking lot #1 is at N45 01.767 W075 39.559.
Parking lot #2 is at N45 02.217 W075 40.008.
Parking lot #1 is closest to the cache -- and closest to the town of Kemptville. The closest you can get to the cache by vehicle is N45 01.768 W75 39.272.
WINTER GEOCACHERS: I recommend parking at Ferguson Forest Centre at N45 01.521 W75 39.312. Round trip from here, your hike is a little under 2km.
The small ammo can is off the ground. Please be sure to conceal it carefully after your visit because this area is well used.
NOTE 1: canoemagic placed two caches in this area; both got muggled. canoemagic graciously allowed me to adopt this cache (hence, the “#3” in the nickname). [wareed]
NOTE 2: On the day that we set up this cache, there was a sign posted at the trailhead regarding deer hunting for six days beginning the second Monday in November. I checked with the MNR office in Kemptville and they said that the dates on the sign should be correct. [canoemagic]
