Faudé Park in San Anselmo
This is a San Anselmo town park, but is little known even to many residents. There are beautiful views of Fairfax and the Ross Valley from the top. The cache is under a huge old tree, in what my son used to call his Tree Cave when he was little. Now, unfortunately, like most of the oldest and largest trees in this park, it is afflicted with Sudden Oak Death and the large branches are falling off.
February 2008 - the tree is now dead and fallen, like every other large tree in the park, so it's not much of a cave any more. The container was lost, so I replaced it with a 4x6" Lock'n'lock.
Pull out some broom while you're here. Take as much as you want, it's free.
