Geocache Description:

The second in a series of caches close to the sumit of a Mojave Desert mountain and requiring a rocky foot ascent of at least 500 vertical feet.

This is the Mojave 500 Geocache #2, "Dunioth." It is on the summit of Dunioth Mountain (my name) about ten miles from Interstate 15 outside of Barstow. The summit is 3765 feet (GPS) and most will start the ascent between 2800 feet and 2900 feet, for a gain of 865-965 feet. The terrain is steep and rocky. As is true of other caches in the Mojave 500 series, IT AIN'T EASY. View is great, tho'.
Other than Irwin Road, there are not any paved roads in the area. The cache is about a one mile hike from Irwin Road.
The cache is a silver ammo box containing a wide assortment of pins, frames, books, and videos.
