Geocache Description:

Check out the memorial then check out a book from our BookCrossing themed cache.

This is a BookCrossing themed cache. Please feel free to swap anything, but expect to find lots of books in the cache. There are also trinkets for the kiddies.

The books are not only for trading. They are for taking. If you see an interesting book and want it, you don't have to trade anything for it. Just take it. You don't even have to register it with BookCrossing.com if you don't want to. You don't have to read it. Take it and give it to someone. Take it and leave it at your next destination (without the bag) and watch someone else pick it up. Give it to a friend. The object with these books is to get them in circulation. You are welcome to trade a book for a book, but not in any way obligated to do so. Trade a book for a geocaching trinket if you feel obliged to trade. Oh, just take the book and enjoy it. If you feel compelled to register it, I would appreciate that as well.

This memorial commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of a local event. To find the real cache, write down the date being commemorated as follows:

__ __ __ __ __ __ __ __
M1 M2 D1 D2 Y1 Y2 Y3 Y4

Write all single digit days and months as two digits. For example, January 1, 2003 would be 01012003.

Subtract the resulting eight digit number from 10176379 to get the northern coordinates for the cache.

Write the date of the commemoration in the same manner

__ __ __ __ __ __ __ __
M1 M2 D1 D2 Y1 Y2 Y3 Y4

and subtract that number from 13764850 to get the western coordinates.

You might want to print this out and take it with you. You may also want a writing implement. (Only a muggle would need a calculator!)

The cache is a properly labeled .50 cal ammo can. It is partly OD. I painted out the ammo information with black paint. There is plenty of parking in the park.

*** Note for replacement cache***
Made a new cache. This is the third box I have placed in this location. The new one can be found by going to the original spot, walking east and looking up. With luck the new cache is out of sight from casual muggle view and safe from floods that don't actually take out the bridge.
