Mid-Zoersel-Cache Multi-cache
Ghostbiker: Na bijna 19 jaar moet ik deze cache archiveren. Door de bouwwoede is een WP compleet verdwenen. Ook de cachelocatie in het Zoerselbos is de afgelopen decennia te toeristisch geworden. Knooppunten, wandelknooppunten, paardenknooppunten, enz. met een massa muggles als gevolg.

After almost 19 years I have to archive this cache. A WP has completely disappeared due to the building frenzy. The cache location in the Zoerselbos has also become too touristy in recent decades. Junctions, hiking nodes, horse nodes, etc. with a mass of muggles as a result.

De opdracht: zoek het geografisch middelpunt van Zoersel en vindt de “Mid – Zoersel – Cache”
Dit zou voldoende moeten zijn, maar omdat niet iedereen als landmeter in de wieg is gelegd, volgende hulpmiddelen:
Zoersel bestaat uit drie dorpskernen: Halle, Sint-Antonius en Zoersel zelf. In de buurt van de kerk van elke dorpskern vind je bijkomende informatie over de locatie van de cache:
Kerk Sint-Antonius (KS): N 51° 15,854’ E 4° 37,975’ EPE 7 meter
Tip: Vraag het aan de kerkgangers.
Kerk Halle (KH): N 51° 14,360’ E 4° 38,846’ EPE 8 meter
Tip: Zoek het in de Halse Bossen.
Kerk Zoersel (KZ): N 51° 15,984’ E 4° 42,682’ EPE 7 meter
Tip: Zoek een auto, een fiets en vraag het aan de hond.
Je moet alle drie de dorpskernen aandoen om de juiste locatie van de cache te weten te komen. Het doet er niet toe in welke dorpskern je start. Ter plaatse begrijp je het wel.
Verder:
1. De magnetische correctie van je GPS toestel moet ingesteld zijn op WGS84 HEADING W001° . Ter plaatse van de cache kan een foutieve instelling leiden tot een afwijking van ± 50 meter.
2. Een goede kennis van je GPS-toestel is vereist. Breng desnoods je handleiding mee.
3. Een passer en een geodriehoek zijn niet noodzakelijk, maar het kan een interessant hulpmiddel zijn tezamen met de kaart.
4. Indien je de tocht met de fiets onderneemt (=aanrader), vind je hieronder een kaart met mooie track. De kaart heeft een UTM-raster met vierkant van 600 meter.
5. Dezelfde kaart kan gebruikt worden door (geoefende) wandelaars. Hou rekening met een totale afstand van ± 25 km.
6. Aan drank en spijshuizen ontbreekt het niet in de dorpskernen. Ook onderweg tussen Halle en Zoersel zijn er interessante locaties.
7. Met de auto kan je de cache naderen tot op ± 1 km, ongeacht vanuit welke richting.
De cache bevindt zich tussen fietspad/voetpad en paardenpad op ± 1/2 meter boven de grond bevestigd aan een vervormde boom (zie spoiler). Op de boom bevindt zich een plaatje met opschrift “Mid – Zoersel – Cache”. Een eenzame eik in het veld bepaald het echte middelpunt.

Van het geporjecteerde punt van de kerk van Halle tot de cache: 132 meter, true bearing 25.4°
Van het geprojecteerde punt van de kerk van Zoersel tot de cache: 115 meter, true bearing 65.1°

The hunt: seek the geographical center of Zoersel and find the “Mid – Zoersel – Cache”
This must be sufficient, but because not everybody is born as a surveyor in the cradle, I have next aids:
Zoersel consists out of three towns: Halle, Sint-Antonius and Zoersel itself. In the neighborhood of the church from each town you will find additional information about the location of the cache:
Church Sint-Antonius (KS) : N 51° 15,854’ E 4° 37,975’ EPE 7 meters
Tip: Ask it at the “kerkgangers”.
Church Halle (KH) : N 51° 14,360’ E 4° 38,846’ EPE 8 meters
Tip: Ask it at the 9 worms (“pieren”).
Church Zoersel (KZ) : N 51° 15,984’ E 4° 42,682’ EPE 7 meters
Tip: Find a car, a bicycle and ask it at the dog.
You must acces all three the towns to find the right location of the cache. It doesn’t matter in what town you start. On the spot you will understand it.
Further:
1. The magnetic correction of your GPS apparatus must have been started on WGS84 HEADING W001° (true bearing). On the spot of the cache an erroneous institution can lead till a deviation of ± 50 meters.
2. A good knowledge of your GPS apparatus is required. Bring if necessary your manual with.
3. A pair of compasses and a degrees arc are not necessary, but can be an interesting aid together with the map.
4. When you undertake the journey with the bicycle, you can find below a map with a beautiful track. The card has an UTM-raster with an outright of 600 meters.
5. The same card can be used by exercised walkers. Take in account a total distance of ± 25 km.
6. There is no missing for drink and food houses in the town centers. Also between Halle and Zoersel are interesting locations.
7. With the car you can approach the cache till ± 1 km, in spite of any direction.
The cache will be found between the bike trail and the horse trail, ± 1/2 meter high on a deformed tree (see spoiler picture). On the tree a plate with inscription “Mid – Zoersel – Cache” will be found. A solitary oak in the field indicates the middle of Zoersel.
From the projected point of the church Sint-Antonius to the cache: 172 meter, true bearing 38.2°
From the projected point of the church Halle to the cache: 132 meter, true bearing 25.4°
From the projected point of the church Zoersel to the cache: 115 meter, true bearing 65.1°
