UFOs Traditional Geocache
Tecolate and Gatita: Several goecachers have reported that the cache is gone. When I'm able to access the site I'll try to replace it. In the meantime, there's no point in anyone looking for it.

Short hike on firm sand, slight uphill. With 4x drive, it is easy to drive next to the cache.
This geocache is an ammo box filled with UFO theme items. It is located in a remote but interesting desert setting near the Giant Rock, a large freestanding boulder. In the 1940s the Riverside county sheriff investigated suspicious radio signals near the rock, and had a shootout with a hermit living in a cave under the rock. In the 1950s, UFO devotees gathered near the Giant Rock, as it stands north of a flat barren desert area that would be an excellent UFO landing site. The site became so popular, that at one time there was a UFO cafe next to the Giant Rock. South of the Giant Rock, is the Integratron, a building designed to attract UFOs. There have been other unusual events nearby. On 28 June 1992 the Landers earthquake epicenter (magnitude 7.3) was near here. Months later an Amtrak train derailed a few miles away in the middle of the night. The derailment was attributed to an earthquake. In February 2000, a chunk of the Giant Rock fell off. Is the Giant Rock a magnet for UFOs, or are all of these things just coincidence? Visit the cache and decide for yourself. When opening the ammo box, watch out for the aliens!
