Two part cache along the Great River Road near Alton, Illinois. The final cache (tupperware, pencil, and trinkets) is a short walk or bike ride. Do not park on the highway. There are parking lots at the east and west end of the bike trail.
Use the cache coordinates to find a high water marker located on a rock wall. You can see it without getting out of your car.
Record the high water date here.

You do not need to climb the cliffs to find the cache. The final cache is approximately 5 feet off the bike trail. Please be discreet in removing and replacing the cache.

The Great Midwest Flood of 1993 was the "most devastating flood in modern United States history" with economic damages near $20 billion. More than 50,000 homes were damaged or destroyed. The extent, intensity, and long duration of the flooding makes this event unique in the 20th century (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, 1994).
