Rapid urbanization has jeopardized urban climax forests. A climax forest is any woodland community of more than 20,000 square feet, dominated in Michigan by plant species such as beech and maple. Generally, these urban areas support little wildlife.
Sadly, I have found this to be true in one of our lovely urban forests. I walk here often, but have never seen any animals other than some pets enjoying the walk too. Please report any wild life you see here. In order to put some critters back into the area I am sharing some of my treasured Red Rose Tea animal collection.
Critter Cache is a traditional cache filled with very small animals including Red Rose Tea collectables and other miscellaneous critters. Take an animal, and if you have one, replace with another animal.
