Blown Engine Cache Traditional Cache
Boris and Natasha: The geocaching model has changed to one of numbers and competition versus outdoor discovery and fun. Too many people are "finding" caches and "discovering" trackables without visiting a cache. I no longer wish to contribute to a "sport" that people are now doing at home on their computers rather than out in nature. I will not give them one more opportunity to add a notch to their competitive belt.

THE CACHE NEEDS A NEW LOG BOOK IF ANYONE CAN HELP OUT AND REPLACE IT BEFORE WE GET THERE TO DO SOME CACHE MAINTENANCE.
We've been wanting to put a cache here since June of 2003 when we were stuck here after blowing the engine on our Suburban coming up the hill headed West.
We were on our way for our annual seven-day camping trip on the beach in California at Carlsbad State Beach. We didn't make it very far. We blew our engine just sixty miles out of Vegas. Since we had to wait two hours for the tow truck we had plenty of time to scout out a good location for a geocache. We thought our vacation would be ruined but one friend loaned us his Suburban for the week, another friend replaced the alternator in the first friend's Suburban so we could go, and a third friend replaced our engine while we were gone. We were able to enjoy six days of the seven day vacation and return home to a completely repaired truck. Thank goodness for good friends.
When hidden the cache contained the following:
Roasted Chicken Travel Bug
Roll Travel Bug
Smiley stress ball
Spy ears
Emergency whistle
15 function knife
Caribiner key chain
$100 pencil
$25 poker chip from Bullwhackers Casino in Black Hawk
