Sara Doublet Forest is a conservation area in the town of Littleton MA maintained by the Littleton Conservation Trust. It consists of 95 acres of well-maintained flat trails, fields and woodlands. A trail map and more information is available at their website (littletonconservationtrust.org).
Directions: From Route 2, take Newtown Road exit in W.Acton/Littleton. At the end of the ramp turn onto Newtown Road and head towards Littleton. Travel approximately 1.3 miles to Nashoba Road on right. Follow Nashoba Road watching carefully for sign at Charter Way (42 30.875/W 71 27.401). Take Charter Way (unpaved) for 300 yards to the parking area and kiosk.
Stay on the winding trails. No bushwhacking is necessary until you are thirty to fifty yards from cache (depending on the direction from which you approach)
The cache is a traditional one hidden in the traditional way. It is an 8”x 5”x 3” tupperware container with a blue trimmed lid. Original contents include log book and pen, parachutist, pocket knife, music CD, small dinosaur, and pencil sharpener. There are also finder’s stickers – please take one as a souvenir, no need to trade!
The cache is on the small side so trade appropriate items. It is accessible in the winter months.
UPDATE 7/29/08 TWO BROTHERS cache, which was a follow-up to this cache, has been archived this date.
